Looking at it though this feels like a GG & Cameron problem.

Took a look at all the teams GG has been a coach of in the NHL and the PP is not pretty.

11/12: Dallas - 29th - 13.5%
12/13: Dallas - 18th - 17.0%
13/14: Vancouver - 26th - 15.2%
14/15: Vancouver - 10th - 19.3%
15/16: Vancouver - 26th - 15.8%

Cameron has similar issues. He spend 5 years as an assistant or head coach in the Ottawa organization.

In those 5 years:

11/12 to 15/16: 23rd - 17.2%

So really a big problem here is that the two coaches that are primarily responsible for our PP aren't very good at coaching it.

And looking back even though we finished 10th (20.2%) last year the PP was very streaky.

Start of season to Dec. 1: 30th @ 10.1%
Dec 1 to Feb 1: 1st @ 29%
Feb 1 to End of Season: 12th @ 20.7%

Which in terms of being very inconsistent is somewhat similar to this year.

Start of Season to Dec. 1: 11th @ 21.2%
Dec 1 to Feb 1: 30th @ 12.8%

Would be nice to have that hot streak to balance things out starting now, a two month run around 23-25% would go a long way to this team making the playoffs.
