All the Hrivik negativity is a bit confusing. Sure he seemed a step behind on some plays but at other times he looked very good on the forecheck and winning puck battles along the boards or at times outright winning races to pucks in the O-zone and was actually quite solid in the D-zone. I can certainly see a future NHL’er. To say he was useless or anything of the sort is a bit off IMO.
Really liked Lomberg’s game. Can he keep it up over multiple games, weeks, months? A season at this level? If so, he’s certainly a gem worth keeper up with the Flames to allow him to continue to develop.
As for Mangiapane, You can see the skill but is the determination there? I question his ability to will his play on the opposition and be more a perimeter player at this point and he needs to play to continue to develop. Not sit on the fourth line with Matt Stajan..that guy is an albatross of offence.
