There are two sides in every negotiation. Treliving cannot merely decide to sign a player and make it happen unless he is prepared to give him whatever he wants.
This idea that Backlund should have been signed already is a flat perspective of how things actually work. And it is laughable to label the loss of Backlund through UFA “a fireable offense.”
