That was different though, as the Oilers were a powerhouse during those years. The 2018 Flames are arguably the better team right now, both on paper as well as on-ice results, and there's no reason they shouldn't be able to beat that tire fire of a team. The Oilers are in their heads right now in the same way the Anaheim arena was. Once the Flames get over that mental hurdle, I have faith that the universe will right itself.
They took some baby steps last night by at least getting it to the shootout and grabbing a point. Hopefully the next game will finally end with a nice big satisfying W.
