Fire is cool. Burning stuff is fun. Smoke itself is very aesthetically pleasing to look at. It's a uniquely satisfying experience, to take the first pull off fresh bowl. Myself, I take comfort in the simple pleasure of having a bowl on my balcony.
Vaping is tremendously convenient. It's far less satisfying. I've had half a dozen different 'flavors' of concentrates and find them to be virtually indistinguishable.
Edibles are an inconsistent high, when they do kick in they're often far longer experiences than I'm interested in having. Ditto for edible oils - getting high off that is such a roll of the dice (my opinion). It also takes 45-90 minutes or more for them to kick in. And I have the time and inclination to be high now lol.
My girlfriend and I went to the New Year's game, and had probably 100 mg of THC drops each. We took them during the first period, and it wasn't until we got home at 1130 that either of us began to notice anything. And while that's extreme, there have been times where oil has taken 2+ hours, or never at all.
Tldr; smoking isn't for everyone, but I like it. It smells like what it smells like, and until we ban diesel engines and farting in public, it's something folks will learn to live with.

most of you are talking about the enjoyment of smoking pot over other delivery systems, and smoking to get high.
in the context of non smoking buildings and medicinal pot, I still don't see any argument for why smoking pot would be ok in a non smoking building. especially the argument of it as a human rights issue.
and for you people that love to get high, don't forget many medicinal users use strains where they choose NOT to get high. it's not always about getting a buzz when talking about pot.
