Depending on your motherboard/chipset, your PCI-E 4x/1x might share a lane with a SATA device, so you might want to check you don't have lane traffic.

So I don't think it's any of these things. I think one of the new Windows 10 updates pooched by Xbone controllers because my DS4 works fine and I have no issues with freezing when it's connected. Going to try replacing the batteries on the Xbone controllers tomorrow night and see if that makes a difference, although I'm pretty sure I already tried that.
