I wonder if there is any gamesmanship here on LA's part. I guess LA wouldn't know who Quick's replacement would be but if they knew it was Smith, I wonder if they'd hold Quick out and dump the travel and events onto Smith. With LA chasing the Flames...

I agree with those saying there is little risk here with Smith playing other than additional travel as opposed to more rest.
