I know I'm taking your words out of context but they support my point; the same logic applies to Brodie.
What is the best six D we can ice right now, and does it include Brodie? GG sees him as 3rd out of eight. That is a big vacancy for a 'build out from the Net' team (BT's words).
I see almost no scenario where Backlund or Brodie are dealt unless the Flames fall way out. The only takers are likely to be playoff bound, they won't risk a hockey trade - they'll only want to give prospects and picks.
