I want to add something kind of funny that goes along with the Kelso "does that detect any kind of smoke?" idiot line from That 70's show. Our smoke alarms are super sensitive. The toaster sets it off on its lowest setting. Super annoying. But I've blown pot smoke directly into it and had nothing happen. Not sure why.

I went through years of that. Probably 5 different ones in all different locations, though I think they were all Kidie since they seem to have the market sewn up in Canada. They are all junk. False alarms no matter what I cooked.

Haven't had a false alarm since. Bonus is it is a 10 year battery, which is the life of the unit so you won't get woken up at 3 am by this one.
