I prefer to play him on the right side before trading him.
If we are moving a D this summer I am still leaning toward a blockbuster involving Hamilton so we can target a Marner type player in return a top young forward under 25

Unless its a dramatic win for the Flames, I don't trade him period end of story.
In fact, and I might be called a homer, I don't trade any defenseman for a dramatic win. But with a guy like Hamilton, unless the opposition GM is squeeling in pain and reaching for a bag of frozen peas to sit on forget it.
On top of that, I wouldn't be interested in Marner who's looked like what he is, a defensively unreliable marshmelon, who isn't lighting the world on fire. The last thing we need is another Gary Leeman trade where a guy produced because of the system.
We don't need anymore soft forwards who are afraid of the boards and can't win a puck battle to save their lives, we're doing enough of that over the last two games.
We've got to many forwards who are a bit soft and a bit passive in the offensive zone and a bit too fancy. We need that guy that's going to drive the lane to the net, not take any crap, and simply shoot. In other words we need another MT type of ruthless player. Show me one that's 25 or under that's out there and I would think about trading Hamilton, but again, its at a premium for the Flames
