If Gio tried to get his upper body out of the way somehow, chances are the knee on knee would’ve been devasating to potentially both players, even more so to Aho because that would be the first point of contact instead of the body, and certain to Gio because his feet were planted in the ice and upper body contorted at an angle, so his knees would take it all.
Good to see the league use common sense here, sucks for Aho but it wasn’t a smart move to be staring at the ice as you’re cutting across the front of the net.
