Engelland was great for us and it's really special what he's done in Vegas, but you're talking about a fanbase that had Daymond Langkow miraculously return from a near career ending neck injury after missing an entire calendar year to a big whopping "meh".
I was waiting for the huge, extended standing O in that game and unless the broadcast missed it there was nothing.

The Flames themselves can assist in this and get Beasley doing something other then mispronouncing names, by saying welcome back and put the camera on him on the big screen during the first stoppage.
As far as returning alumni, the most egregious oversight was not formally recognizing or welcoming Darryl back in his first game as a the Kings coach. Instead, Cammelleri in his return after his 1 year cup of coffee here, after he crapped on the Habs and got traded here for his second stint, got a “welcome back” mention and small video that very same game. I’ll put that one on the insecure GM we had.
Engellend is a man’s man, no question about it. Never bitched, never complained, tough as nails, very very consistent at the back, then took a pay cut IMO to go to his home. Great to see him rewarded with the chance to speak before the opening game in LV, and with a raise and extension.
