His head is attached to his torso so of course it's going to move with contact. I completely disagree the principal point of contact is with the head though. Gio's arm is tucked and shoulder goes right above solar plexus. It looks the way it does because of the angle Aho is cutting in at (his legs are lining up to Gio while his upper body is angled away) not looking where he's going.
