Does Giordano get suspended for the hit on Aho? Update:No hearing scheduled - Per NHL
No ref initially put their hand up to call a penalty when the hit happened. Giordano eventually ended up with a game misconduct on the play. I see it as Giordano had his shoulder down when he delivered the hit and the knee on knee was accidental. I'm wondering if the hit on Fowler works against him though... Thoughts?
Thanks Sureloss for the updates:
Update: Per the NHL, no hearing is scheduled regarding Mark Giordano's match penalty against Carolina on Sunday afternoon. #Flames
Sureloss - "No hearing means the most the NHL can fine him is $5000. There will be no suspension. It can also mean they aren't going to do anything.
If there is a fine the league must provide notice within 72 hours of completion of the game."
Sureloss - "Wes Gilbertson has confirmed no supplementary discipline for Giordano"
