I had a foreigner meet up here in Reykjavik last night, a girl from Vancouver and a few yankies, lots of Europeans, Africans, Latin Americans, etc..
Anyhow the girl from YVR says, oh Calgary, that's the people freaking out about the nudists at a pool! Everyone laughs, I cringe, and people seemed surprised saying they thought Canada was more like Europe and then the sad part comes when she rightfully says "Oh most of Canada is not like that, Calgary is in Texas north and Calgary is like Dallas, its all rednecks.."
Sadly the best I could add is well, most of Calgary is not rednecks, but yeah the Dallas and Texas comparisons are not far off if you mean we are the Canadian versions of those, but not exactly like those.
