The formation is pointless since setting up the one-timers is the whole point. If the team is incapable of doing that, which has been the case since Versteeg has been injured, go with a formation that embraces the teams cycle element.
I'm not calling for one timers. I'm also not calling for point shots. I'm calling for close in, dirty, quick puck moving attempts, and lots of them. And this team should be able to do that. No more outside the perimeter stuff. And if there's going to be a pint shot it needs to be from a pass from down low, not across the ice, and a lot quicker of a setup.
