Women compartmentalize men into 5 basic categories:
Creepy: Please don't touch me, please don't look at me, please don't talk to me please don't ever yeah you get my point.
Acquantiance / Passerby: Yeah if the guy says hi then cool but that is all our relationship will ever be and no I do not want more.
Friend: I will talk to him, complain about my boyfriend to him, I like having lunch with him on occasion, but WHOA what the hell please do not ever indicate romantic feelings for me because we are just friends.
Provider: You know, he just might have the resources that make him a long term partner, maybe even marriage material if he plays his cards right, he makes good money, I would introduce him to mommy dearest, he has a good job, he can provide me with a secure future.
Lover: Oh my god, he is so hot, I want to bang him right now and let him do whatever the hell he wants with me because he is like so hot.
There is no question that there are some men who use their position of authority to ascertain sexual favors from women and this of course is inappropriate. These men are more than likely providers who wish to god every day they were lovers but know that women will never classify them like this.
Let me ask you a question, has there been any "hot guys" accused of ANYTHING here? No there has not been because guess what, no woman is going to say "omg Johnny Depp had his hand on my ass, I feel so violated". Because they would look ridiculous, but if Al Franken did the same thing, all hell would break loose!
What we are seeing is a 2 pronged issue.
1. Men who are using their power to take advantage of women beneath them in status.
2. Women who are fed up with men who are taking a step outside of their preconceived category. A woman would not be upset to be propositioned by Chris Hemmsworth for a one night stand, oh but if Ted Cruz propositioned them it would be traumatic for them. Why do you ask? Because Chris Hemsworth is in the lover category and Ted Cruz is in the provider category and providers are not supposed to do this! Providers are supposed to take you out on 10 dates and convince you to have sex through their look what I am on paper skills.
Women have sex with lovers because they want to, women have sex with providers because well it's a means to an ends. The moment a man who is provider material acts like a lover or acts inappropriately it is an issue for that woman.
Think of some very unattractive woman hitting on you or wanting you to sleep with them or slapping you on the ass......and then think how you would react if Mila Kunis was doing this same thing to you.....see totally different!
What men have to learn....we have to learn ATTRACTION. We have to learn when a woman is interested in us sexually, when a woman is not interested in us sexually and act accordingly.
No we do not have to change the way we behave around woman, which has been talked about again and again on this thread. What we have to do is read the signs better, read which women are into us, which are not. That is our responsibility.
Women have to look at themselves in the mirror too and hold themselves accountable, and before they slander or ruin some dudes career need to think to themselves. Would I be reacting like this if it was a hot guy that I wanted?
