I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but I wouldn't actually be opposed to this.

There are some nights where Dougie's play terrifies me. I'm actually somewhat amazed his advanced stats / traditional stats are as good as they are. Every thing about him is coveted in a dman. He has great possession numbers. He's 6'5". Good shot. Good skater. Puts up points. Yet I feel like he responsible for more icings and giveaways than anyone else on the team. If he faced with even a bit of pressure, he's almost guaranteed to give the puck away. He gets caught out of position frequently and takes far too many stick infraction penalties.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a 1st round pick to draft the other Tkachuk, but I think Hamilton is a very valuable trade piece for the Flames.

Replace Andersson with Hamilton and you have another $5 million in cap space to play with. Hamilton is a better player than Andersson, but I think there is enough talent on the blueline to stomach this. Gio elevates the play of whoever he is playing with.

If you trade Hamilton for a potential high impact player like Brady Tkachuk on his ELC, you have a lot of quality in your lineup with cap room to spare.

I don't know why one of the basement feeder teams would make this deal, but Treliving has more wins than losses in the trade department. Much like the Flames trading for Hamilton in the first place, there is some value in trading for a known commodity instead of the mystery box that is a draft pick. Maybe Buffalo with their awful draft record would rather have a known player in Hamilton. They seem pretty desperate for dmen. Maybe Arizona gets infatuated with Hamilton's advanced stats and wants him.

Who knows. You might be joking about trading Hamilton, but there might be a deal out there that makes sense for the Flames.
