My guess and or take, Flames tried to add more offense to the forward ranks in the off season.
Provided to be unsuccessful, they went through training camp and highlighted a need.
They felt it was worth the risk to sign Jagr....
I am sure they were hoping he could produce offense.....
Problem is his health and foot speed.
