The challenge, when talking about lottery picks, is that the teams that hold them are typically rebuilding. So they aren't usually interested in trading for current assets. Thus finding trading partners is very difficult.
Having said that, saying "it would take Gaudreau" or something ridiculous like that, is pure speculation and completely pointless. Might as well say "a billion-kajillion dollars". No one is going to pay it, so what's the point?
The purpose of the conversation (for me, at least) is to try and determine what a fair and reasonable trade would look like. And Brady Tkachuk is probably a 2nd line winger.
