I don't understand all the people wanting him to stay around and "Rehab" and be ready to play down the stretch and in the playoffs.
What makes you think he'll be any better than he was to begin with, and how would you like the Flames to accommodate that?
You can't just keep a player on IR and off the active roster so he can relax and take it easy for a few months, plus, it sounds like that's what he did all off season, which lead him to not being in game shape this season.
If he's capable of extensive rehab and exercise, and on ice drills to get back into game shape, he's going to be cleared to play, and will have to come off IR, meaning he'll be taking up a roster spot long before he's in peak shape to be "Productive" like some seem to think he's capable of.

As for him sticking around to coach.... really?
Of the 9 NHL teams he's played for, the Flames are the team he's played the fewest games with. What makes you think his loyalties lie with us, not to mention the fact he owns a team in his home town. If he wants to coach, it won't be here.

Was it cool to see Jagr wear a Flames jersey. Ya, it was.
But expecting him to be a productive player, or a coach for us at this point is a fantasy.
The experiment was short lived, rightfully so.

The Flames should do him right, put on a big show for his NHL retirement at the next home game, and let him ride off into the sunset as an absolute legend of the game. As fans, we should give him the Jagr salute, and move on, cheering for our team.
