The chances of Donaldson re-signing in Toronto are miniscule and a signing like this doesn't put any pressure on him either way.
Also, not to be too negative but I don't believe we'll see this organization legitimately attempt to go star to star against the Yankees and Red Sox. We had a two year period where the stars aligned and we were able to go all in while the Sox and Yankees were dormant, to which we went about 80% in the first year and 70% in the next and thankfully got two amazing runs out of it.
They won't spend asset and money wise with those guys when they're in contending status. Unfortunately, they also won't rebuild either. We'll likely be what we've been for the better part of 20+ years.
