Whether you like it or not there is a huge amount of luck involved in every single hockey game at this level of parity. The job of the coach and players is to give themselves the best possible chance of winning by generating more scoring chances than the opposition, which the Flames did last night, rancid power play aside. Whether the chances that happened to go in were lucky or not, the Flames were the better team, deserved to win and deserve credit for that. So many games this season, the Flames have outplayed their opponents but had unlucky goals against snatch away the two points. They hardly received credit for their play in most of those games.
