Mony is one of my favourite players in the NHL. However I don't think he will ever be a true elite #1C. He just doesn't have enough to his game. He is one hell off a goal scorer, average defensively, and decent at dishing the puck. It also allows us to match Monahan and Tkachuk which I've wanted to see since we drafted chucky.

Yikes! average defensively? I mean, Johnny is great at the back check and all but he isn’t a defensive specialist by any means. Monny has to be the best forward defensively in his own end on most occasions.. I think you are underrating his game a bit.
