Gio could also be sat for a few games if he continuously shows up half an hour late to each practice... but we don't know either of those things are close to being real.
You're constructing a narrative in your own mind and then arguing with others for not sharing it or reacting to it the way you are.
I think this was just another day with one moment being captured in the press and blown out of proportion. That is what the press wants with these stories, but the level that you and a few others have taken it to in this thread is to the extreme.
As mentioned, I think this is a young team, trying to put it together in a league with strong parity. The notion Gio is "to blame" for this team being in a wild card position at the half-way point to the point where he might not be "on board" is ridiculous to me.

So if I reverse my statement logically to "Giordano should not be stripped of his captaincy if he's not onboard with the program" you would agree with that statement? Just want to make it clear what about my conditional statement you're objecting to.
The comment was throwing out hypothetical things Gulutzan could do to silence the speculation regarding his sincerity. Do I think Giordano should be stripped of his captaincy? No. Do I think he should be stripped of his captaincy if he opposes the coaching staff? Yes. See the difference?
If I were Gulutzan and I'm listening to my captain downplay my actions during practice to the media the first thing I'd do is meet with said captain in private and tell him to stop. Is that extreme, too?
