I know it's a public forum, everyone has rights to voice their opinions, etc. And like I said, what Andersson did was not professional. But to be honest, I feel a little ashamed that we're publicly ragging on this kid while he's down.
Yes, I agree the coach should have pulled him aside and told him to try and save a bit of face by apologizing even if he didn't really mean it.

My point was that regardless of whether Canada won or lost my view on players throwing medals away in public is the same and that it would be embarrassing had a Canadian did it. I wouldn't lose any sleep over but it's one of those facepalm moments.

I agree some of the criticism is a bit much but I don't have any issues with people pointing out it makes him look bad.
