It's going to be while until Treliving is able to trade valued picks seeing the team has no 2nd round picks and only on 1st round pick in the 2018 and 2019 drafts. Even 3rd rounders are slim as I think the Flames still owe the Blues a 3rd round pick for the Elliot trade and then the 2019 3rd goes to the Coyotes for Smith. This team has a single high valued pick in the next two drafts and that's the 2019 1st. The thing with the Hamonic trade that maybe doesn't get talked about is that it kind of really hurt the chances of the Flames addressing that RW void in the next couple of seasons. All that is left for the Flames are player for player trades or free agency. I kind of get the feeling the team may take a run at Kane in free agency.
