Rachel Notley had this to say today via tweet. Quite respectful: Jim Shaw was a pioneer in business who changed the telecommunications landscape. He was a philanthropist who made an enormous difference in his community.

A life of privilege cut short. He did start as a cable installer, and quickly rose to the top job before leaving.
