That's what's keeping me going so far this year. We aren't quite done improving yet. Still don't know how we will upgrade our 1C though.

That is the last position we need to upgrade. Monahan is on a point per game pace and is only 23. He has a few holes in his game, but he is 100% a 1C in this league. If Bennett keeps trending up (he's only 21) he could challenge for that 1C job at some point. Add to that Jankowski and Backlund I would say C is arguably our strongest position.
On another note, I really think Tkachuk is the player who will eventually be one of the key players on the team going forward. He has my vote to take over the captaincy once Gio is gone. He gets up for every single game. He seems to have that fire inside even when no other player on the team does. Once he matures a bit more, I think he could really set the tone in the locker room and on the ice.
