However since Buffalo is out of the playoff race, they have no motivation to make a deal now unless there is a bidding war. That makes me nervous as Treliving has shown a willingness to overpay for what he wants. My guess is there is no major deal imminent.

What Treliving has do is create a bidding war for Brodie which should be possible. If buffalo wants Brodie but is stalling, get a third team involved to create urgency. If Buffalo keeps stalling, hopefully the 3rd team is ready to act.
