Hamonic was acquired at market rate considering he was thought of as a good second pair defenseman. I don't know if it's the system, that he sucks, or maybe he's just been unlucky, but he's been playing like a #6 this year and is a big reason why the Flames aren't doing as well as they expected to. He's not the only player deserving blame but for the price paid, a lot more was expected.
If the first would have been protected I'd have no problem with the value but jeez, that pick could be (probably will be, knowing flames luck) top 3. The Flames should have been right around the top 10 this year, so picks 20+51+another late second would have been fair but 3+34+2nd is capital a awful, like worse than Brouwer awful.
