Which is exactly why Gillies isn’t available either. You don’t start tossing away players at a critical position you’ve been trying to fill for years. Un,ess ghere is a trade demand somewhere a,one the line, you sit on those goaltenders and expect one of them to turn into a starter. Mike Smith will not be here after his contract is up, so another puck stopper is a requirement in the next 18 months.
