One bounce and the Flames were right back in that game, and yet they were unable to generate anything offensively after the Ducks scored their 2nd goal. Instead they just raised the white flag and checked out with almost a full period still to play. That's embarrassing.

To be fair, the only reason they were in the game was a bounce. That Gibson rebound was a mistake by the goalie, not a great play by us.
The Flames can't score goals when they play the way Gully wants them to (see the 2nd period last night, and the SJ game). "It's about execution", it's not like we're getting dozens of good scoring chances a game. We generate very few chances. The team plays it safe 5v5 and on the PP. They take low % shots because "goals are scored on rebounds", then the coach claims it's all because a lack of execution. The players feel the pressure, their games go sideways. It's a really unhealthy culture, and we've seen it before (the Brent Sutter years), except now we actually have talent and it's the same story regardless.
