Ironically I disagree. Defending earlier in your shift is easier than defending later into a shift. Ask yourself three questions:
1) Does Jagr generally have steady defensive zone anticipation and positioning?
2) Can Jagr control defensive zone board battles to hit Backlund or Brodie down the middle with a breakout pass
3) Do you prefer Jagr backchecking late into a shift or carrying the puck into the offensive zone and making a line change while Tkachuk/Backlund deep in the offensive zone?
