Eight is Enough
The Montreal Canadiens were oozing with confidence as they came home to paly the Wild. An eight game winning steak, they had just knocked off the Capitals, a conference powerhouse, to move into a three way tie with The Sens and the previously mentioned Caps for first place in the league. However, it all came to a crashing hault today as the Wild showed little respect in an 8 to 1 trouncing of the Habs.
"We went away from the our style" said GM Beerfund "Yesterday we played with controlled agression, today we were undisciplined. Two spearing majors, and elbowing major, 11 total power plays. We can't do that."
The Canadiens will have the day off tomorrow. However, they will be asked to forget the loss quickly, and begin to focus on the Ottawa Senators. The Sens also lost today, maintaining the three way tie for first place. Both teams are idle until they play each other on day 33. However, top spot will likely be lost as the Capitals, Thrashers and the Sharks are active over the next 3 days.
