The Flames are lucky that they hooked me when I was 10 years old, by winning the Cup. It held me over long enough to keep the faith during the Young Guns era, and then the magical run of '04 when I was 25 re-upped my fandom. Now I'm 39, and my give-a-f*** level is getting pretty low. I would continue giving F***s, if I saw an attempt at improvement, like I did in the off season, acquiring players and the tweaks to the line up. But the in game and in season ongoing WTF's are just getting so frustrating, I can barely watch anymore. I didn't even watch the Montreal game, because they scored in the first minute. I just knew that that was how the game would end. I hear they called that goal back, but I still just knew it. Screw it. Somehow I knew they'd find a way to lose, and there would be some stupid BS in the PGT asking the same questions about the powerplay, and things like Stajan and Brouwer out on the ice with less than 2 minutes to play.

Same sh*t, different day. Over and over. Swell job, Gulutzan. And seriously, Treliving is clawing his way up my sh8tlist by refusing to see that his coach refuses to see the problems and make adjustments.

It's seriously unbelievable that he refuses to try other things. And the patience shown by some of the fans on this site baffles me as well. MLB plays 162 games per year. Nearly double that of an NHL schedule, and you see managers pulling pitchers after one bad pitch. Meanwhile, we've got the same 4th line as we did game 1. In an 82 game schedule. At game 35.

Bravo, Gulutzan. You're so much smarter than everyone else. Don't worry, it'll all work out one day, right? Just keep on keeping on. 30 years of being a Flames fan, and this is what I get.

I hate to admit it, but honestly, if it wasn't for my hopeless addiction to this site, I think I would no longer be a fan anymore. The Brent Sutter era was so pathetic, I seriously think I would have entirely checked out. And now the Flames are doubling down on boring failure as their recipe to success.
