There are valid criticisms, but I feel that there are many criticisms that are reaching. In the grand scheme of things, there are parts that I felt could have been improved upon but they certainly aren't taking away from my enjoyment of the movie. I don't intend to get into a big debate about whose internet dick is bigger when it comes to this movie. I enjoyed The Last Jedi. I'm happy with my own opinion and I don't care if other people liked or hated the movie. I loved it and I can't wait to see it again!

This is more or less where I am with it at this point. My impression of the movie improved quite a bit after watching it a second time, as I feel that my first viewing was clouded by a veil of plot expectations and a lack of childish wonder at the beauty of Star Wars. When I went in the second time and just sort of sat back to enjoy, I quite liked it. I'm pleased with where they're propelling the story more or less, and think that the movie's strong points outweigh the nags by a sufficient margin.
For me, there's danger in taking the microscope to a movie like this too closely. Each film in the saga has its quirks, and the "laws" that govern the Star Wars universe have always been fairly nebulous at best, so ripping in to the violations of Newtonian law and various forms of cheese in Last Jedi inevitably opens one up to questioning a lot of Star Wars content.
