transplant has a point though. Regardless what you think of them, at some point good players have to rest. It's not quite like my EA Sports NHL videogame where I can keep line 1 on the ice for 60 minutes if I choose.
Thing I don't get about Brouwer is that his speed isn't all that bad really. He seems to show flashes of caring. So what is it? Just his head's not in it?
I'd like to see more from him in terms of tenacity, assertiveness, physicality and blocking shots / getting in lanes. He seems like one of those guys that once he got the big contract, called it a day and doesn't want to put the same work in anymore or put his body at risk.
If he's getting big minutes on the PK, he needs to be more like Stephane Yelle. Block shots and put your body at risk more. The fans will respect you a whole hell of a lot more that's for sure. It's how Bouma became popular before he got paid and decided it wasn't worth it anymore either.
