You know I'm really not sure... when you bring the sword out of its sheath, you pretty much just give the controller a light shake. But when you go and fight, you can swing it around either lightly or like a savage and he'll do the same move essentially. So I'm not sure how useful the new tech is for using your sword and stuff, because you can probably get the same out of it by pushing a button. Not sure if this explains it well.
Other actions, like throwing a boomerang or shooting an arrow involve using the remote to aim on the screen and a target appears, which is pretty neat too.
hmm... overall I'd say it does use the new controller. Also there are sounds that come out of the new remote, although they are fairly loud.
But I'm sure its just the fact that its Zelda, its been awhile since the last one, the scenery looks amazing and fighting guys is pretty fun.
I'm sure if you just got it for the gamecube, it would be ok. I really like how the Wii has gamecube controller ports so you can play your old gamecube games in the Wii despite the different size of the discs... my gamecube broke so this is a big advantage for me.
