Im not sure any of this is accurate. He’s having a great first half this season but since breaking into the NHL he’s had 1 25+goal season, appears to be a perennial 50-60 pt guy, but has yet to play a full season in the NHL. Sure no major injuries and likely some rest days due to his style of play, but he isn’t the most durable guy. Also you mention defensively he’s Elite. With most of his TOI co-existing with arguably the Best Defenseman in the NHL, you would think that a guy who puts up 50-60 pts a season would have a better plus/minus than he does.. Don’t get me wrong, I really like me some Mark Stone and think he would fit perfectly with the Flames but he isn’t as “elite” as you make him out to be and thus being less “untouchable” than your post suggests.
