I just saw it. My feelings are confused so I'll wait till captain crunch tells me how I should feel.

I'll share a couple quick thoughts though, but I need to see it again before I make a final judgment.

Yoda scene was awesome, and it was done right by doing 70s Yoda and not 00s Yoda. It was probably the redeeming quality of the movie.

I think the light speed suicide mission was visually amazeballs, but come on. You can't just do that. Otherwise why didn't the rebels just set a computer course on auto pilot on some rust bucket ship directly for Darth Vaders bridge? Or the death star(s)? Or any battle scene? They could easily have designed drone craft with this single purpose. Dumb and lazy and cheapens the movie to suicide light speed destroy the enemy.

They did an injustice to Luke's character. You may not like it, but episodes 1 to 9 are about the Skywalkers. Luke should have died in episode 9 in the most epic way in cinema history. I'm sad and disappointed. Adding to my disappointment was some ####ing dooshnozzle on my FB spoiled that Luke dies, so I kept trying to guess at what point he'll die. It took away from my experience and I will slap that ####ing idiot when I see him.

The storyline wasn't compelling and as someone mentioned in this thread, there are myriad of good ideas you can run with in a rebels vs establishment story. I think it was Cecil terwilliger. Like really, we're going with space chase and we ran out of gas?

A minor quibble, but Poe is a Warrior-God. He's literally the hero of every battle he's been in and has probably done more for the alliance/resistance than all Jedi combined lol. Is there anything he can't do? He should be as decorated as those north Korean officers who are literally covered in medals haha.

Anyway, overall I'm thinking I don't like it. Some good stuff in there for sure, but lots of major misses that could have easily been turned into huge wins for fans, Disney's pocketbook, and the star wars epic saga.
