Apothic wine has nothing to do with being poor or not. It's the added sugar. There are other wines that have residual sugar that are the same price point and taste better.
I just feel that apothic is doing a disservice to their own customers by making a subpar wine, and then adding sugar after the fact, to get that 'apothic taste'.
There are quite a few sweet wines to try. Honey Badger, Bostovan Bastardo, Roscoto are some places to start.
