Overall I would say it was good, I enjoyed it, but it was definitely overhyped. I think I like it a bit more than TFA but not much.
The good:
-Luke Skywalker was amazing.
-Yoda was so cool to see (and I love that he was a puppet).
-The humour was well done (even the "your mom" joke made me chuckle)
-Phasma dies. Stupid pointless character whose entire purpose is to sell toys.
-The direction they took with Kylo Ren was awesome. He's pure evil. They sucked me into thinking he would turn but he didn't.
-The music, obviously.
The bad:
-Rey's parents are nobody? Really? I tend to agree with Roast Beef, I'm not convinced we know the whole truth yet.
-Snoke sucked. Big time. What the actual frig was that? He's supposedly the most powerful being since Darth Vader and he's that easily duped? He couldn't sense the lightsaber right beside him? I'm hoping there's more to this but unfortunately I think he's just a let down.
-I was promised a bigger reveal than when Vader told Luke he was his father. That didn't happen. There were definitely some good twists but nothing came even close to that.
The ugly:
-Space Leia. I liked the idea, but the execution was poor.
Overall I'd give the movie 8/10. Very good but not quite good enough to be truly blown away. If anything, I was slightly underwhelmed but I really think that's because of how much hype the movie had. I think in time I'll appreciate it more. I noticed now I appreciate Episodes I and II a lot more than I did 5 years ago. If I can learn to like those, I'm sure I can learn to love this one.
