Nah, owners just liquidating to get thieir money back. Jeter gets to be the face of the team (and not go to Winter meetings) to put a credible face in this screw job. And knows that the agents are looking to get their decent clients out of there ASAP.
A couple years I am guessing you see Jeter “sell”his portion and then go to work for the Yanks or Cards now that he has experience.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I’d considered Shapiro to be and to say ever since he got announced a few years back.
