My personal rule of thumb has always been greater than 1:1 drink to hour ratio over 4 hours and you're probably not supposed to drive. 3 drinks in less than 2 hours is max. However, how I feel is more important than the expected BAC. I generally drink a lot of water if I am to drive. Based on some BAC calculators, I don't think I ever drive if I'm over .025 or higher. |
Craft beer with ABVs ranging from 6-18% and serving sizes from 8 to 20 ounces has made the one drink an hour calculation rather mathy! Not to mention 16 ounce cans and 26 ounce bottles.
