Pitchfork was responsible for exposing Charli XCX to North American audiences and turning her into a breakout star so I think Pitchfork will always be partial to Charli XCX and vice versa. And Charli XCX has bonafide DIY indie cred, so that's another reason why I'm not surprised to find her on this list. And I can understand why people may not like
Boys, but I find it really catchy with a great accompanying video.
