Pretty tough for Mourinho to cry poverty. The broke the transfer fee record last year on Pogba, and at the same time spent what....250 million? Then they spent a pile of money this summer as well, and are already planning on more spending this coming year. And then you look at their wage bill and it's astronomical compared to say 15/19 other teams.

And it could be said that they refuse to lose money on a move, but when I look at their financials (they're publicly traded) they have taken on a lot of debt over the past few years. I don't know their exact structure, and maybe that would explain things, but their net debt is up by about half a billion in the last few years. Clearly they're losing money somewhere!
