I totally agree that after watching the video you could not conclude that he was a threat. That is part of the problem though, we are only seeing the video. People seem quick to forget that this guy pointed a rifle out a window and that is why the cops were called. They do not have the information we have in hindsight. They don't know how many people are in the room, or how many weapons there could have been, or that it wasn't a real rifle. After Las Vegas I am assuming the cops are high strung when they get a call to a hotel room where a scoped rifle was reported. Easy to say from the video they should have walked out and cufffed him. Harder when you're there and have no idea what the threat may be. The only argument I feel informed enough to make is in favour of tighter gun laws. To me this is the core of the problem.
