I don't advocate internet bullying... But I can certainly see why a lot of people are getting sick of the narrative some posters keep posting (Again not critical of the people who are posting but the actual content of the posts).

I am definitely ok with criticism of the coach but when people start saying things like they won despite the coach or he was outcoached but bailed out by a couple of players - this is when it starts getting ridiculous.

If anything, he has managed the last 3 games very well - I will give examples of even the last game - even strength - the Bennett-Janko line had almost as much ice time as the Johnny line (indicating he could tell how Johnny was struggling) and rode the 3M line hard with ice time (and guess which two lines came through in the third). Another one is actually pairing Brodie with Stone a little more often down the stretch. Another adjustment didn't work - but he tried Janko on the point on the pp and took Brouwer off. Lastly, for everyone critical of his emotion - he lost it at the refs when they called Gio for his penalty.

To say he is out coached last 3 games I would say is laughable - for the advanced stats nerds - it was like 65-35 last night with the 3M line controlling 75 percent of the play (and guess who got the top minutes again).

Again, I am NOT a GG apologist - I am critical of his Brouwer PP usage and usage of the fourth line under critical situations. That being said, he is starting to use his 3M line more after goals for me against as well as in the final minutes of periods/games - and also trying to insulate the fourth line by playing them with Gio-Hamilton.

What people also fail to realize is this is GG's third full season as a head coach in the NHL - he is obviously still learning - much like we do early on in our jobs. What I am looking for is some progression - and I can see that in terms of his adjustments. I stand by my belief that he is an average coach but has room to grow. It also doesn't mean that if a top tier coach became available, that we shoudn't consider replacing him either.

Sorry for the long post, but had to get this off my chest - the forum is starting to become borderline unreadable with the negativity - and I think people have to differentiate between negativity and criticism.

To be honest, you can dislike the coach as much as you want, but keep it rational - the posts I don't mind are the ones that lays out evidence and arguments (ie. The posts comparing Hartleys team vs this GGs team). I may not agree but find that it adds a lot more to the conversation.
