The Flames have been pursuing a few deals to get some help on their Defence specifically to get bigger and help on the PP.
In two deals over the last few days we have reset our D but had to give up a big chunk of our future to do it.

First deal with Ottawa

Flames send:

Warren Foegle AHL

3rd round pick

Ottawa sends

Zdeno Chara

Cap

Second deal with San Jose

To San Jose

Falk, Justin (D) NHL
Folin, Christian (D) NHL
Tuulola, Eetu (RW) AHL
Yamamoto, Kailer (RW) ECHL
2018 1st Round Draft Choice (cal)
2019 2nd Round Draft Choice (cal)

To Calgary

Burns, Brent (D) NHL

Hated giving up Yamamato and my first but getting both Burnsy and Chara will help my defence immeasurably.

Flames Defence moving forward is now Burns, Chara, Coburn, Engelland, Manning, Miller Ruhwedel and Schmidt. Lots of size, toughness and scoring.
